Futaba invested in hardening press from AP & T
Last year, AP & T launched the first complete production line for the press industry in Japan. The company now sells two more presses, namely Futaba Industrial Co. Ltd., one of the largest automotive component suppliers in Japan for the automotive industry.
"The first production line was installed at the end of May 2014, and an additional line would be built a few months later at the Futaba factory in Okazaki, 250 km south-west of Tokyo. "Said Mats Lindman, AP & T's technical sales manager in Sweden.
Both presses will be used to produce body parts of vehicles such as pillars and roofs for some of Japan's major passenger car brands. As usual, the desire of various automakers to reduce their weight and emissions while maintaining or improving safety constitutes the basis for Futaba's investment decision. Futaba is Japan's first subcontractor to invest in this technology on a large scale.
A reliable and secure solution throughout the entire life cycle - this is the core of AP & T's scope, regardless of application or end-product.
The rapid development of materials and methods of production creates new opportunities for the automotive industry to produce safer and lighter products with lower fuel consumption and less climate impact. . As a partner with a number of global car manufacturers and vehicle components, AP & T plays a key role in the development.
TImprove productivity in existing routes
At the same time, many manufacturers have a great deal of potential in rationalizing and streamlining the production of conventional cold pressing parts. Here AP & T supplies both new production equipment and automation of existing machines and production lines - regardless of the product. For example, AP & T automates a large number of parallel lines, resulting in shorter cycle times, higher availability, and improved product quality.
AP & T's processing technology to form highly durable aluminum components offers new opportunities for producing lighter, safer, more energy-efficient vehicles than with climate and lower environmental impact.
Lower weight and higher strength
AP & T's solution allows structural components to be manufactured from cold-formed steel or aluminum sheets instead of being made from high-strength aluminum. This means that the material thickness can be reduced and the weight of the component can be lowered by 30 to 50 percent, while enhancing material durability and impact safety.
The ability to form and process more reasonable
Our processing technology significantly increases the material's formation, meaning that high strength aluminum can also be used for complex shapes. Additional features and qualities can be integrated into a single component. Among other things, this means that the parts that are currently being manufactured from some connector parts can be manufactured in fewer steps. The logical process also leads to cost advantages. Less parts, fewer production steps and fewer tools are required to combine management results, logistics and assembly efficiency with a very competitive cost of ownership.
AP & T automates both current and new lines. With our well-tested modular system as a foundation, we create flexible, energy-efficient and reliable solutions that allow for high productivity.
We provide automation for both existing machinery and new servo lines. Our solutions are suitable for Type A parts and can be customized based on products, materials (steel, aluminum, welder ...) and other specific needs.
Our line control system allows us to take full responsibility for the communication, safetyand monitoring of the whole line including automation, presses, washing, lubricating, final systems and safe.
